GO UP, UP AND AWAY AT OUR WONDERFUL AIRPORT!!

Changes and future expansions at SRQ airport will be the topic at the October 13th Palm-Aire Women’s Club Luncheon.

On October 13th, Rick Piccolo, the CEO of the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport will discuss the current improvements and plans for future expansion of this airport. Each month more than 300,000 passengers travel through the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. Passenger traffic continues to grow at a breakneck pace and the airport is growing along with this increased traffic. There are multiple projects in place to manage the future growth needs of the SRQ. A new cell phone lot, a 5-gate terminal expansion and additional paved parking lots are some of the projects in the works.

Mr. Piccolo is in charge of this expansion and will discuss how these changes will affect us now and in the future. This local airport is essential and used by all of us.

Unfortunately, due to increased costs, this buffet luncheon will be $33 for members and $35 for non-members. Payment must be received by October 6th. Checks can be mailed to PAWC Lunch , P O Box 21051, Bradenton Fl 34204 or dropped off at PAWC mailbox by the PACC reception desk. If you prefer to pay by credit card, then please contact SUSAN ROMINE. The PAWC will no longer be accepting payment the day of the meeting.

This month the charity committee is collecting for Turning Points for the Homeless in Manatee County. This Non-Profit agency works to prevent and reduce homelessness in our community. They provide day resource services (such as hot showers, laundry services, clothing, food), employment services, rental and utility assistance, veteran’s services (employment & housing), and free medical and dental care for the uninsured. The PAWC will be collecting items for the homeless to be distributed by Turning Points. Items should include laundry soap, clothing and personal hygiene items.

This summer Peg McKinley has been organizing luncheons and coffee outings. Coffee at the UTC Panera is the next scheduled event. Check your eblasts (now mail chimp) for future outings.

The PAWC is requesting dues as early as possible. Make sure your dues have been paid. Late payments cause omissions from the PAWC directory and limits the number of scholarships and grants this club can provide. Mail checks to Dues, PO BOX 21051, Bradenton, FL34204. If more convenient, place the check in an envelope in the PAWC box in the PACC reception area. To use a credit card, contact Susan Romine. For more information, contact membership chair, Katherine Pike.

Be sure to check the PAWC website, www.palm-airewomensclub.org. or Facebook at Palm-Aire Womens-Club page for the latest news and updates. Contact Debi Frock at Pawc1.reservations@gmail.com to be included on the PAWC email list.
