THE PALM AIRE WOMEN’S CLUB IS STARTING THE HOLIDAYS EARLY.

November 12, The Sarasota Cuban Ballet School will perform highlights from The Nutcracker.

This season, Christmas comes early to the PAWC. Every year, The Sarasota Cuban Ballet School performs a fun, lively version of The Nutcracker, the story of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince. The PAWC is privileged to exclusively preview The Sarasota Cuban Ballet School perform scenes from this classic ballet. This performance is sure to be the holiday event of the Gulf Coast and will be seen here first!

The award-winning ballet school (SCBS) was founded by the Cuban-born husband and wife team of Ariel Serrano and Wilmian Hernandez. They train and prepare talented students to perform at advanced levels, preparing them for careers as professional dancers. Many who trained with SCBS are now performing with major companies in the UK and the US. Alumni often come back to perform and to mentor present students.

Due to cost increases beyond our control, tickets are now $30 including entertainment and lunch. Checks should be sent to the PAWC, PO Box 21051, Bradenton, FL 34204 or left at the PAWC mailbox in the Palm Aire Country Club office. Checks must be received by October 4th. You can also pay via PayPal. Log in to PayPal and type in palmairewomensclub. This makes it easy to reserve your seat. Please contact Judi Bouchard at judibouchard@myfairpoint.net to confirm your reservation.

In keeping with the holiday theme, the PAWC is collecting unwrapped toys for children through age 12 at this luncheon. This is our annual collection to provide toys for children impacted by domestic violence. A representative from A Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center will be present to collect the toys and discuss her organization. Let’s make lives better for children of Domestic Abuse.

December 12th, the PAWC is planning to hold a HOLLY JOLLY. Former President Carolann Garafola has generously offered to open her beautiful home to host one of our most popular fundraisers. The Holly Jolly has been missed these past years and now members will have a new reason to celebrate . Further information will be given closer to the day of the event.

At the October luncheon, Manatee players, Lauren Butterfield, MariAnne Hernandez and Suzanne Marschner Mattes appeared to perform highlights from their roles in "Mamma Mia!". They delighted the audience with songs from the show and inspired not only sing-a-longs, but dance-a-longs. It was amazing to see how many PAWC members were secret Dancing Queens. They heard the enthralling music and hurried to flaunt their disco moves. Needless to say an enjoyable time was had by all.

The Mix and Mingle events are extremely popular and have led to many new members. Each month different members host members, potential members and guests. It’s a fantastic way for present and future members to get acquainted. Everyone is guaranteed a wonderful time. Don’t miss the next one. Please check emails for dates and times.

The PAWC was founded more than 60 years ago to help others and make a significant difference in the community. Over the years this club has used its fundraising skills to aid local charities as well as provide scholarships to deserving students. Working together to achieve common goals has also helped members to find and keep friends.
