To BUFFET OR NOT TO BUFFET?


Try out the buffet at the October 14th meeting and votefor your preference!!!.


On October 14th, The Palm-Aire Women's Club will offer its members the opportunity to sample a buffet luncheon. The buffet will offer a greater variety to choose from and create opportunities for additional mingling and socialization. This buffet will have three entrees, soup and salads, several sides and a dessert. (The November luncheon will be our traditionally served Thanksgiving dinner.) Attendees will be asked to comment and decide which type of service they would prefer. Be sure to attend both the October and November meetings so you can voice your opinion.

Evan Barniskis, the Associate Vice President of Mote Marine Laboratory's new Science Education Aquarium, will be the speaker at the October luncheon. Mr. Barniskis will discuss the spectacular new Mote Science Education Aquarium now being built on twelve acres in Nathan Benderson Park. The present world-class Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium is dedicated to support conservation of marine and coastal biodiversity, healthy habitats and natural resources. The new Mote SEA will improve hands-on access to marine science education.


The spectacular new facility will double the number of visitors and provide no-cost opportunities for schools to utilize specialized teaching labs to ensure that every child has the opportunity for hands-on marine science and technology experiences. Exhibits totaling more than one million gallons will feature a stunning array of sharks, Atlantic and Pacific coral reef species, manatees, sea turtles, otters and myriad other wildlife. Visitors will glimpse deep sea and remote habitats, including Mote research sites from around the world. Interactive labs and hands-on classrooms will be accessible to every school in this region so that each child has the chance to discover marine science and technology, first-hand.


Also at this luncheon, the PAWC Charity Committee will be collecting items for the homeless to be distributed by Turning Points. Items should include laundry soap, clothing and personal hygiene items.


The Palm Aire Women's Club invites all to attend luncheons and get involved helping the PAWC grow. This allows the club to continue helping the community. Join us and check out opportunities for Friendship, Fun and "Giving Back".


The PAWC Mix and Mingle events are especially popular. Each month different members host members, potential members and guests. It's a fantastic way for present and future members to get acquainted. Many members wanted to get together for lunches over the summer. Vice President Ann King arranged several gatherings at different local restaurants. The most recent one was held at The Rosemary. Everyone enjoyed t1Ying out different eateries and having an afternoon of fun and friends.


The PAWC cordially invites Palm Aire Country Club members to join the Women's Club, Non country club members are also very welcome. Membership is open year-round and is not limited to Palm Aire Country Club members.
