For the first time, the PAWC will have Co-Presidents!!

The winners of the Palm-Aire Women’s Club 2024 grants will be introduced at the May 10th Charity Luncheon Meeting. Chairwoman Carolann Garafola and her committee have selected small, independent charities that make a difference in our community. This year’s grant recipients; include Baby Basics of Sarasota and Manatee Counties, Brotherhood of Men, Dollar Dynasty, Healthy Teens Coalition of Manatee County, HOPE Family Services, Mothers Helping Mothers and Second Chance Last Opportunity.

Baby Basics supplies diapers and wipes to one hundred low-income working families who do not receive government assistance.

Brotherhood of Men mentors teen males from low-income families, helping them explore the arts, find jobs and expand their world beyond their limited means.

Dollar Dynasty assists underprivileged adults and children with basic needs and counseling.

Mothers Helping Mothers furnishes basic needs and baby items to families.

Second Chance Last Opportunity empowers individuals in crisis by providing them with essential life skills and tools as well as emergency food, clothing, hygiene items, and baby supplies.

The PAWC recognizes the valuable work these organizations accomplish in assisting the community. Nonprofit charities depend upon donations to continue their work in caring for the less fortunate. It is inspiring to support the critical work these organizations are doing on behalf of those in need.

For the first time, the PAWC will have Co-Presidents!!

Being president of the PAWC is an enormous responsibility. The president must confirm dates and preside at all board and general meetings. She must be a member of each and every committee. She must appoint all chairpersons. She must oversee the club financials and its fundraising activities.

It was determined that having two people share these responsibilities would serve to strengthen the club and ensure that this 67year old organization would continue and prosper.

This new 2024/2025 PAWC board will be inducted in a candlelit ceremony at this luncheon. The new officers for the 2024/2025 Executive Board are: Co Presidents - Carol Darling and Debi Frock, Vice President - Sandy Kier, Recording Secretary - Judy Herman, Corresponding Secretary-Susan Romine and Treasurer - Peg McKinley. This ceremony serves as a reminder of the six-decade history of the club and demonstrates that its mission remains unchanged.

Cost of the luncheon is $33 for members and $35 for non-members. Payment must be received by May 3rd. Checks can be mailed the PAWC PO Box 21051, Bradenton, FL or left at the PACC office. You can also pay by credit card, contact Susan Romine.

Every dollar helps provide scholarships and grants and is 100% tax deductible. Membership is open year-round. Non-Palm Aire Country Club members are very welcome.
